Version 2020.3 released

We’re happy to announce that the Rhoxyz 2020.3 version is ready for download. The Windows version is immediately ready, while Linux users can obtain their application in a day or two (Edit: Linux version is ready). The package now contains a graphical user-interface and a console interface to run the simulations. The main changes are listed here. The documentation is now given online for everyone to access it. By the way, now the application can be automatically updated using an updating tool (if you want to).

Since we recently had a major rewrite and update of the core to make the solver extendable for coupling and complex geometry, 3D extension of the solver haven’t yet been calibrated and Windows GPU support is yet to come. Therefore, expect (automatic) updates soon as the development progresses.

The rewrite has also allowed the solver to work with extreme viscosity changes, which we tested on a non-Newtonian fluid. This confirms the stability and accuracy of the novel spatial operators and our solution method, which motivates us to proceed extending the solver to compute large-eddy turbulence and phase changing.

Enjoy, and feel free to give us your feedback and/or report issues.
